Marketable Skills

Marketable skills for the Spanish MA include interpersonal, cognitive, and applied skill areas that are valued by employers and are primary or complementary to the major.

The high-level Spanish language skills (in advanced grammar, Spanish literature, and Hispanic culture) allow MA holders teaching at primary and secondary levels to supplement their base salary, although the amount depends on the school district. Spanish MA graduates are qualified to teach dual-credit courses in public and private high schools and as adjunct instructors at colleges and universities.
